Reasons for Brown Vaginal Discharge
A thin, clear or white vaginal discharge known in the obstetrics business as leukorrhea is a normal part of having female parts. But one of the biggest worries for pregnant women is brown discharge, probably because the color is so close to blood. The good news is, in the vast majority of cases some brown discharge is just part of being a woman. For whatever reason, some blood in your uterus took longer to come out — and as it gets older, it turns brown.
For the first year or so, periods can be irregular and light. Brown discharge is simply old blood. If it is watered down by your normal vaginal discharge or even by semen, it may look light brown. If you have a new partner, consider getting a STI sexually transmitted infections check.
